Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Newbury and Surrounding Areas
Pay: £95 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

Teaching Personnel is seeking confident and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to support a range of primary and secondary schools across Newbury and the surrounding areas.
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants looking to take on additional responsibilities, support teaching and learning across the classroom, and make a meaningful impact on pupils' educational journeys.
The Role
As an HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and helping pupils achieve their full potential. You may be required to lead small group interventions, cover lessons in the teacher's absence, and provide targeted support to students with varying learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities
- Lead whole-class sessions when required
- Support pupils individually and in small groups
- Assist with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and school leaders
- Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs where required
What We're Looking For
Applicants should have:
- HLTA status or significant experience working as a Teaching Assistant
- Experience supporting children in a school setting
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- A flexible, proactive, and professional approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
