Higher Level Teaching Assistant

A Primary school we work closely with at Teaching personnel in Leeds are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a full-time position starting in September 2020. 

The Head Teacher is looking for a  Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support learning across the school from Early Years - Year 6. This is a full-time and dynamic role in which you will be supporting groups of children, covering Teacher planning time and also covering classes during courses and sickness. The working hours for this role will be 8:30am - 3:30pm and every week will be different, therefore candidates applying for this role must be flexible. The Head Teacher is looking for a candidate who has experience leading a full class of children. 

In order to qualify for this role you MUST meet the below criteria

• HLTA qualification or equivalent (Educational based University degree) OR Final Year Student/NQT
• Experience leading a full class of pupils across the Primary age range 
• Available full-time / permanent

The school have decided to restructure their teachers PPA time and therefore need someone who can perform general TA functions for most of the week, but can also confidently take a class and follow teacher planning 2-3 days per week. This role would be ideal for anyone with aspirations of becoming a teacher who wants to get as much experience in classrooms as possible.

This Primary school is rated as GOOD by Ofsted as per their last inspection in 2018 and is a warm, friendly environment to work in. The school are very supportive of staff members with teaching aspirations and provide opportunities for the role to continuously grow.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
