Job description

A high-achieving and rapidly improving secondary school located in the vibrant city of Peterborough is excited to announce an opening for a dedicated and enthusiastic Modern Foreign Languages Teacher, specializing in French and German. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2024.

Responsibilities:
*Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in French and German.
*Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
*Utilise an array of instructional techniques and media consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
*Assess and record students’ progress systematically, and keep records to check work is understood and completed, monitor strengths and areas for development, inform planning and recognise the level at which the student is achieving.
*Participate in departmental meetings, school training and development sessions.
*Organize and participate in social and cultural activities such as language clubs, trips and exchanges.

Requirements:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK or an equivalent internationally recognized qualification.
*A degree in French and/or German or a related subject.
*Proficiency in both French and German, with at least one at native or near-native level.
*Experience in teaching French and German to students at secondary school level, including A-level.
*A proven track record of contributing to the progress of overall student attainment.
*Excellent organizational and communicational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
*Commitment to continuous professional development.
