Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - ASC

Due to a temporary gap, our client secondary school in Manchester are looking for a HLTA to provide support to students with Autism in their specialist resource centre.

The post is initially a fixed term cover until April with an immediate start date for the most suitable candidate. There is a chance of this post extended or securing another position within school.

Highlights of post as HLTA;

  • Situated a short journey from the city centre (Blackley based)
  • Large, modern secondary school part of established trust
  • Providing specialist support in a specialist autism provision
  • Competitive term time salary (£16522 - £17628 per annum)

Our client school is a large, newly built secondary school situated on the outskirts of Manchester city centre, boasting excellent public transport links with a number of tram and bus routes from Manchester. The school has outstanding provisions for learning throughout, including interactive learning spaces for learners to benefit from. The resource centre houses state of the art technology throughout ensuring students and staff have the best available to them.

Requirements for this position;

  • HLTA certificate (or higher qualification)
  • Enthusiasm to work with children of different abilities, skill levels and needs
  • Experience working across the preferred Secondary phase
  • A strong, confident individual with secure class management strategies
  • Ability to engage pupils
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Experience supporting ASC or students with complex needs
