Head of Maths
Salary: Leadership Scale LP3 – £54,393
Start Date: September 2026

We are seeking to appoint a motivated and inspiring Head of Maths to join our successful secondary school within the 5 Dimensions Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and talented practitioner to lead a thriving department and drive excellence in teaching and learning.

You will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven track record of securing consistently strong outcomes. Passionate about pedagogy, you will have the vision and expertise to lead others, shaping an engaging and ambitious mathematics curriculum that supports all learners to succeed.

The Role

As Head of Maths, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the department, ensuring high standards of achievement and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of an ambitious, inclusive, and knowledge-rich mathematics curriculum
  • Drive high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment across the department
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing effective strategies to secure excellent outcomes for all
  • Inspire, support, and challenge colleagues through effective line management and professional development
  • Promote a culture of mathematical fluency, problem-solving, and analytical thinking
  • Use data intelligently to inform planning, intervention, and departmental improvement
  • Build strong partnerships with families, external organisations, and across the Trust
  • Contribute to whole-school leadership and improvement priorities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
