We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to lead our Business and Economics department at our vibrant secondary school in the heart of Islington.

As the Head of Business and Economics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of our students, inspiring them to excel academically and thrive in their future careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and inspire a team of talented educators within the Business and Economics department.
  • Develop and implement engaging and innovative curriculum plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to explore, question, and challenge concepts in business and economics.
  • Utilize creative teaching methods and real-world examples to bring the subjects to life and enhance student understanding.
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to support their academic growth and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to integrate business and economics concepts into interdisciplinary learning experiences.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and developments to ensure curriculum relevance and prepare students for the demands of the modern workforce.
  • Engage with parents, guardians, and stakeholders to build strong partnerships and support student success both inside and outside the classroom.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching Business Studies and Economics at the secondary level.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
