Graduates - Sunderland

Are you a recent graduate with an interest in working with young people? Do you pride yourself on being a helpful and motivational person? If you have taken on roles where you may have been responsible for helping 11-18 year olds-whether that be in your personal or professional life-we may have your next role.

Teaching Personnel is working closely with a number of schools in and around Sunderland and have been experiencing an increasing demand for individuals who can provide support within the classroom. The main criteria required for these roles are confidence, a can-do attitude and the willingness to help others.

You can expect to take on roles such as the following:

  • Teaching Assistant-working with students on a small group or 1:1 basis, helping them with the completion of tasks. This can sometimes entail working alongside pupils with SEN.
  • Cover Supervisor-supervising classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring that behaviour doesn't escalate and that work is completed. This is a particularly great role for future teachers.
  • Tuition/1:1/ intervention-utilising subject knowledge from your degree to provide additional support for students who are struggling in the lead up to their exams

When you work alongside us, you will benefit from the following features:

  • Regular, flexible work
  • Access to a vast range of classroom-based experience, which looks highly desirable on applications for teaching roles
  • Opportunities for ongoing training through our CPD academy, where you will work with teachers from 'Outstanding' Catholic schools
  • Access to the Catholic Schools Recruitment Partnership through the Hexham-Newcastle diocese

If you are interested in being considered for this role, or to find out about any other opportunities we may have please get in touch with Leyla on 0191 223 5071 or via email at
