Graduate Learning Support for Durham Secondary Schools
Full-time from September 2025 - Perfect for Psychology, Education, Childhood Development, or Sports Science graduates
Just finished your degree and want to work out if education is for you? Teaching Personnel is recruiting graduates to work as Learning Support Specialists in Durham secondary schools. It's hands-on classroom work supporting students across Years 7-11, and it's a solid way to figure out your next move - whether that's teacher training, educational psychology, or something else entirely.
What you'll be doing:
Working alongside teachers to support students who need extra help - academically, socially, or behaviourally. You'll run small group sessions, work 1:1 with individuals, help deliver lessons in English, Maths, and Science, and generally keep students engaged and progressing.
You'll need:
- A degree in Psychology, Education, Sports Science, Childhood Development, or similar
- Some experience with kids or teenagers (tutoring, coaching, mentoring, volunteering - anything relevant)
- Good people skills and willingness to learn on the job
- Interest in careers like teaching, SEN support, or educational psychology

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
