Graduate Teaching Assistant

Join Teaching Personnel’s Graduate Teaching Internship and gain practical paid school based experience prior to enrolling on formal teacher training. Through the programme, graduates are placed in a local secondary school to work as a subject specialist teaching assistant for up to one academic year.

As a graduate teaching assistant you will undertake a range of tasks including:

  • Assisting in the preparation and planning of lessons
  • Providing subject specialist in class support
  • Providing one-to-one and small group intervention
  • Covering classes in the absence of teachers

Through every new experience, you will be supported by teachers and senior leaders to give you the experience and confidence needed to progress on to teacher training.

Graduates will be required to work Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3pm and will receive a weekly payment. We welcome applications from graduates of English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Languages.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
