Are you a recent graduate or due to graduate in the next couple of months, looking for a career in the education sector; specifically secondary schools?
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a number of secondary schools in Luton and surrounding areas to provide a number of Graduate Teaching Assistants for September 2019. Though the positions are set to start next academic year (September 2019), there could be opportunity for graduates to secure regular work in schools prior to the summer. This excellent opportunity will allow the successful Graduate an opportunity to build a foundation in support of a future in the Education Sector.

Whilst working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, the role involves working specifically within a set department, where you will provide in-class support and deliver intervention to boost attainment and encourage pupil progress. You will be seen as a role model and mentor to students throughout the school and will be expected to encourage participation during lessons, particularly for those who may be disengaged with their studies.
As the Graduate Teaching Assistant role is ideal experience prior to a teacher training programme, you will be designated a member of teaching staff who will act as your mentor and provide support and advice, along with a termly appraisal to help in your development, prior to your teacher training programme. Whilst undertaking the general responsibilities of the post, you will also be given the opportunity to enhance your subject knowledge through planning sections of the lesson such as the starters and plenaries.
