Teaching Personnel are looking for graduates of English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Languages to join our Future Teachers Programme this academic year. The programme is designed to support any recent graduates considering a career in teaching and wish to gain paid practical experience before enrolling in initial teacher training.

This position will commence at Easter and will run until the end of the academic year. 

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, candidates can expect to be introduced to a local secondary school to support for up to one academic year in their department of specialism. Upon completion of their placement, all candidates will have gained the experienced needed to enrol on to a formal Teacher Training programme. 

The role of a Graduate Teaching Assistant will involve:

• Helping to raise attainment through one-to-one and small group interventions in your subject specialism
• Offering in class subject specialist support
• Assisting  with lesson planning and preparation
• Delivering cover supervision in the short term absence of teachers

Schools taking part in the programme have the opportunity to enrol graduates onto their own Teacher Training programme or help them onto a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
