Are you an ambitious recent graduate considering a rewarding career in education?

We have a superb opportunity for an enthusiastic recent graduate to join an outstanding Wakefield based Primary school as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in September. The key role is to support the teacher and provide learning support to students with special and additional needs. This is an extremely rewarding role where you will have a significant impact on these students' education.

This is an outstanding school with a strong reputation in the local community, modern facilities and excellent transport links nearby. The school has a vibrant forward-thinking learning community where staff are valued, respected and cared for. If you're thinking of a career in teaching, the school will offer a complete academic years' work that will support your PGCE/teacher training applications. It also has an exceptional schools direct salaried teacher training programme.

This is a long-term position starting in September 2020 for the next academic year. We are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious and pro-active graduate that is thinking about training to teach in the near future. The school are keen on Skype interviewing successful applicants as soon as possible.

What you will receive

  • Full time employment for the academic year September to July - planned September start Training and development - look at the current curriculum and access to resources
  • A chance to see the other side of the desk and assess what teaching is about
  • Earn GBP350 to GBP410 per week plus additional benefits
  • Access to School Direct/ ITT courses in placement schools - some salaried
  • Potential interviews in June for suspected September start
  • Graduate Teaching Assistant -school description and graduates needed

The ideal candidate will be

  • Able to work 5 days a week, full-time
  • Commit to a 12 month contract
  •  Have a graduate degree (The school welcome applications from graduates across all subject areas including; English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, Drama, Art and PE
  • Passionate about learning and has high expectations for raising pupil attainment
  • Approachable and a good communicator
  • Has an understanding of different pupil needs and how to meet them
