Graduate Teaching Assistant 

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a secondary school in the Macclesfield area and they are looking to appoint a Graduate Teaching Assistant. The Graduate Teaching Assistant role is ideal for those who have just graduated looking to gain invaluable teaching experience before undertaking a PGCE in the future.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant you will have the chance to undertake a number of different roles to build your teaching experience and knowledge;

• General classroom assistant

• One to one and small group tuition

• Behaviour support

• SEND (special educational needs and disability)support

• Cover supervisor, covering lessons in the absence of the class room teacher

It is essential that you have some experience working with young students to apply for this role. If you have worked as a sports coach, swimming instructor, scouts leader or something similar, this is the type of experience we are looking for within the applicants. The Headteacher within our partner secondary school in Macclesfield is looking for a confident Graduate Teaching Assistant, who is looking to pursue a career in teaching.

“The ideal Graduate we are looking for will have previous experience working with secondary school ages students, be confident and outgoing to help get the most out of all of our students and will be available to work a full time Teaching Assistant role. If they get on well within our school, we will give them the opportunity of a permanent contract and take them on for the academic year” Headteacher

Our partner secondary school is located in the Macclesfield area, close to the train station, that has a direct train link to Manchester Piccadilly making it easy to access for those who use public transport. With a recent ‘Good’ Ofsted rating, this is a great school for a Graduate Teaching Assistant ot kick start their teaching career in.
