Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

We have a new and exciting opportunity and are looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to work in a new resource base in a CofE Secondary School in Bath.

The resource base is off-site and caters for students with mild learning difficulties. These students are not exclusively based here as it's more transient support for students when they need it. You will, however be working exclusively in this provision. You are there to support students across all secondary age groups on a small group and 1:1 basis but you are not assigned to just one student.

The school is a CofE school which has a small, community feel. The staff are known to be incredibly supportive and hard working. You will be guided by the SENCO and SEN team throughout. Behaviour is good on the whole but of course, like most schools have pockets of disruptive behaviour.

This role is full-time and to start in September. Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 3:30. You will be paid GBP10.20 on a 6.5 hour day, so you will be paid GBP66.30 per day. The school are looking to take Graduate Teaching Assistants onto contract after an initial supply period.

The school loves graduates and have taken on multiple during the past 3 years who have gone on to become successful teachers. Essentially, you need two things: An undergraduate degree and a passion for education. SEND (Special Needs and Disabilities) experience is advantageous but not essential. In previous years the school has had particular success with Drama, Sport, Psychology, Sociology and Criminology graduates but they are in no way exclusive to these, so if you are interested, please apply ASAP!

In return, you will be fully trained in the first two inset days and you will be paid PAYE on a weekly basis with no umbrella fees and no paper timesheets to sign! You will also have full access to our CPD academy to further your personal development.

If you are interested, please contact me immediately and quote Graduate Teaching Assistant. I look forward to your call.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
