Have you recently graduated or set to graduate from University and looking at taking the next step in to a career in education?

Would you like to gain experience and an understanding before potentially applying for a teacher training programme?

If so, Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a secondary school in Oldham to give recent graduates the potential opportunity to secure a full time position working as a graduate teaching assistant, supporting students using their subject knowledge from their degree. Due to the size of the school, there is the potential for a number of applicants to be successful and the school are looking for graduates across all school subjects including Maths, English, Science, Languages, Humanities, Computing and Design-based subjects.

  • Opportunity to gain position as graduate teaching assistant for full 2021/22 academic year
  • Earn up to GBP375 per week whilst working (dependant on previous experience)
  • Work in a successful secondary school and understand the life of teaching staff
  • Enhance your own skill-set prior to commencing your teacher training
  • 15 minute walk from nearest tram stop for non-drivers

Whilst working at our client secondary as a graduate teaching assistant, you will be given the necessary experience prior to a PGCE or similar course, enabling you to start your teacher training programme full of confidence and with the ability to effectively support and lead classes in your chosen subject. The work will involve supporting the school’s teaching staff in the delivery of lessons across all year groups, including those completing GCSE examinations. As a graduate teaching assistant, you will also deliver small group booster/intervention sessions to identified students with the aim of them progressing in the subject, as well as potentially working with key students on a one-to-one basis.

The school is a large, modern secondary situated in Oldham, not far from Manchester with excellent public transport links. You will have access to excellent facilities throughout, including state of the art technology to ensure you are able to provide the highest level of support to students. You will join a school with an excellent Headteacher, who ensures all staff are supported throughout ensuring your progress will be of high importance.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
