Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large Secondary in Wigan. The school are currently recruiting for a number of full-time Graduate Teaching Assistants to join their support team for the new academic year, starting in September 2019 for twelve months.

This position is perfect for recent University Graduates looking to pursue a career in Secondary teaching, as it provides significant experience before entering into a teacher training programme.

  • Graduates of all specialisms are welcome to apply for this position
  • Positions available for the new academic year, September 2019
  • 12-month temporary position
  • There a number of support roles available including English, Mathematics and Science
  • The role will include working alongside the class teacher in supporting students within the classroom
  • Include covering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
  • Gain substantial experience prior to beginning teacher training
  • Dependent on previous experience, earn up to ÂŁ300 per week
  • Work within a large Secondary academy with a Good Ofsted rating

With over 1000 pupils, the school is in need of extra staff to guarantee students are supported and that teachers also have the help they require in the classroom. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant within our client school, responsibilities will include working 1:1 with identified pupils that require additional support within certain subject areas. Further responsibilities incorporate supporting the class teacher, covering lessons in the absence of the teacher and delivering intervention sessions to raise overall pupil attainment. This experience will enhance future teacher training applications, and could result in a direct placement with the client school, depending on success.

Located in the Wigan area, our client school can be accessed via the M6 and A577. For non-drivers, the school is situated close-by to Wigan train station with direct links from Bolton, Bury and central Manchester.
