Graduate Teaching Assistant – Wigan (January 2026 Start)

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting enthusiastic and motivated graduates ahead of the Spring Term (January 2026). We work in close partnership with a wide network of Secondary Schools and Academies across Wigan, offering fantastic opportunities to gain hands-on classroom experience before embarking on a teacher training course.

Position Details:

• Role: Graduate Teaching Assistant
• Location: Wigan and surrounding areas
• Start Date: January 2026
• Salary: £1000–£1200 per month (dependent on experience)
• Contract: Full-time and part-time positions available

This is an ideal opportunity for aspiring teachers to build confidence, develop classroom management skills, and gain invaluable experience in a supportive school environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to boost learning outcomes
• Assisting teachers with classroom behaviour management and engagement
• Leading intervention sessions for pupils who need extra academic support
• Option to work as a Cover Supervisor (unqualified teaching) if confident

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
