Job Title: English Teacher (Part-Time – Mondays & Tuesdays)
Location: Secondary SEMH School, Wirral
Contract Type: Part-Time (2 Days per Week)
Required: Full QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

A dedicated secondary SEMH school based in the Wirral is seeking a passionate and resilient English Teacher to join their team on a part-time basis, working Mondays and Tuesdays. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to students with social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages learning and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with the wider school team to develop tailored learning plans and behaviour strategies.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods accordingly.
  • Promote literacy and a love of reading across all key stages.

Essential Requirements:

  • Full QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – applications without QTS cannot be considered.
  • Proven experience teaching English at secondary level.
  • A strong understanding of SEMH needs and strategies to support students effectively.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
