Graduate Teaching Assistant

(Wigan based secondary school - September 2019 - Full and part-time roles available)

Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit Graduate Teaching assistants for one of our client schools based in the Wigan LEA.

This is a rare opportunity for a Graduate to join a supportive secondary school based in Wigan where successful staff members will receive complete support and gain key experience in a high achieving, forward thinking and caring environment.

Successful applicants will be supporting individual pupils aged 11-16 on a 1:1 basis within lessons, covering full classes in the absence of teachers and helping prepare students for summer examinations.

  • Full and part-time Graduate Teaching Assistant positions available
  • Support in a range of classes in different subject areas
  • Provide additional tuition to GCSE pupils preparing for examinations
  • Provide general support to classroom teachers
  • Earn between £1000 - £1200 per month whilst gaining invaluable experience towards a career in secondary education

The school are looking for teaching assistants who will be comfortable working with students from varied backgrounds and students of mixed abilities. The school wish to appoint Graduates who have a keen interest of pursuing a career in education and have a willingness to learn under the guidance of experience staff members. It is important that staff members are patient have a positive attitude and have a direct influence on the learning of pupils within the school.

  • Is slightly smaller than the average sized secondary with around 700 pupils on roll.
  • Holds an excellent reputation within its local community
  • Is located on the outskirts of Leigh town centre making it accessible for those on public transport also.
  • It is easily accessible from both the surrounding areas of Bolton and Wigan respectively via the A579.
