A Manchester Primary school in the M21 region, Chorlton-cum-hardy is searching for a graduate Teaching Assistant to begin working across Key Stage 2 at the start of the next academic year in September. The school has asked Teaching Personnel to help with the recruitment process in order to get a feel for the best possible candidate.

The Manchester Primary school has been graded "good" in their most recent Ofsted report but is making all the relevant strides towards "outstanding". In the most recent Ofsted report it reads "Although the overall quality of teaching is good, it is not yet consistently outstanding. This is the main reason why pupils' achievement across the school is also good, rather than outstanding". The school has already begun putting interventions in place to ensure all the teaching is brought up to an outstanding level. One of the interventions they have brought in is with the introduction of graduate teaching assistants for the start of the next academic year to be utilised across different year groups.

The role will involve leading small intervention groups of around 4-6 pupils in Reading, Writing and Maths across the key stage 2 year groups. The small groups will differentiate from both lower ability to higher ability pupils. The role will also involve general teaching assistant work of supporting the class teachers in class across the year groups. Previous experience within key stage 2 is highly sought after however it is not necessary.
