Graduate Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking for a number of Graduate Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants for upcoming positions commencing in January 2021.

Successful graduate teaching assistants will be enrolled on to Teaching Personnel’s Graduate Teaching Internship and will be given the opportunity to work as a subject specialist teaching assistant for up to one academic year. This will provide you with the experience necessary to progress on to formal teacher training or will be given the opportunity to be enrolled on to the schools centred initial teacher training (SCITT).

Graduates will be required on a full time basis Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3pm. Working as a graduate teaching assistant, you will be expected to support in a variety of roles to get a real insight in to life as a teacher. Over the course of the programme Graduate Teaching Assistant will provide specialist in class support, assist in the preparation and planning of lessons, help raise attainment through one-to-one and small group interventions and deliver cover supervision in the short term absence of teachers.

• Have a recent degree in English, Maths, Science, Humanities or Languages 
• Be available on a full time basis from January 2021
• Be looking to pursue a career in teaching
• Be able to commit to a long term role lasting up to 6 months (January – July)
• Be able to commute to our client schools located in Central, South and East Manchester

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
