This role is ideal if you’re on a gap year, preparing for postgraduate study, or exploring a long-term career working with children.

Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work in primary schools across Cwmbran. You’ll support pupils with additional needs such as Autism (ASD), ADHD, or Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) challenges—helping them achieve, grow in confidence, and feel included in school life.


⭐ The Role

  • Job Title: Teaching Assistant

  • Location: Cwmbran

  • Start: Immediate

  • Pay: £89.38 per day (depending on experience/qualifications)

  • Hours: Mon – Fri, 8:30am – 3:30pm

  • Contract: Full-time or flexible part-time


What You’ll Do

  • Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups

  • Encourage positive behaviour & emotional wellbeing

  • Adapt resources to meet individual needs

  • Create a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom space

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff

  • Contribute to EHCPs and IEPs


‍ Who We’re Looking For

  • Graduates or students in Psychology, Education, Sociology, Childhood Studies or similar

  • Any experience with children or young people (paid, voluntary or personal)

  • Passionate about supporting children with SEN

  • Calm, empathetic and a good communicator

  • A strong team player with a genuine interest in child development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
