Graduate Teaching Assistant

Pay from £385/week.
A large and diverse Additional Needs Base in Cardiff is currently looking for a Graduate (or soon to be graduate) to join their team of Teaching Assistants.
The Base provides support to learners aged 11 – 18 who struggle with work within the mainstream school due to a range of additional needs and social challenges. Graduates are essential within this setting due to the skills and understanding gained through completing a degree that allow you to support pupils academically as well as emotionally.
** The school are looking at taking on a graduate of any degree subject and are offering full training and the opportunity for a long-term role for the successful candidate. **
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide academic, behavioural, social, and emotional support for learners; holding intervention sessions where required for pupils struggling to cope in the mainstream school.
- Work on a 1-2-1 and small group basis with students with a range of needs, including developing and leading activities and sessions tailored to students’ interests.
- Liaise with parents/carers, other members of staff, and the senior leadership team to monitor pupils’ progress and make changes where required.
- Step in to provide support, working across several different roles, when other members of staff are absent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
