Are you a graduate considering a career in teaching but not ready to jump straight into training? Teaching Personnel’s Future Teachers Programme offers the perfect bridge — combining real classroom experience with full support, training, and pay.
Spend up to a year in a school in Cambridge, developing your confidence, skills, and understanding of teaching — before committing to a formal training route like PGCE or Schools Direct.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step into classrooms across a secondary school in Cambridge, taking on responsibilities such as:
- Supervising students during teacher absences
- Delivering pre-prepared lessons
- Managing classroom behaviour
- Supporting pupils with their learning
- Observing and learning from experienced teachers
No planning or marking is required — giving you space to focus on classroom presence and student engagement.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
