Future Teachers Programme – Poole
Salary: £23,000 – £27,000 per annum
Start Date: January 2027
Location: Poole
Are you a recent graduate considering a career in teaching? Would you like to gain valuable experience working in a secondary school before progressing into formal teacher training?
Teaching Personnel is looking for enthusiastic and motivated graduates to join our Future Teachers Programme in Poole, offering the opportunity to gain practical school-based experience while being paid.
Your First Step Towards Teaching
This programme is ideal for graduates who are passionate about education and want to develop their confidence, classroom experience and understanding of school life before progressing towards a teaching qualification.
As a Future Teacher, you will initially work as a Cover Supervisor, supporting secondary school students when their usual teacher is unavailable. You will supervise lessons and ensure students remain engaged with the work provided by the class teacher.

Who Are We Looking For?
We welcome applications from graduates who have a genuine interest in education and are considering becoming teachers.
You may have a degree in:
- Maths
- English
- Science
- History
- Geography
- Religious Education / Ethics and Philosophy
- Modern Foreign Languages
- Technology
- Or another subject that you are passionate about
You don't necessarily need previous classroom experience. What's important is your enthusiasm for working with young people, willingness to learn and ability to build positive relationships with students.
What Will You Do?
During your placement, you will have the opportunity to:
- Supervise lessons during short-term teacher absences
- Ensure students understand and complete the work provided
- Develop your classroom and behaviour management skills
- Observe lessons across different subjects
- Gain an understanding of differentiation and different approaches to supporting students
- Experience registration, assemblies and wider school activities
- Work alongside teachers and other school staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
