Job description

We are seeking to appoint a successful qualified science teacher of any specialism to join the expanding department at a secondary school in the Manchester area rated Good by Ofsted. The Science position is open to NQTs and experienced practitioners provided they hold QTS in the UK.

This large secondary school holds a strong focus on academic excellence, with high expectations of pupil engagement with their education, as well as of the teaching and learning provided in lessons. Their Progress and Attainment 8 scores are, as a result, very strong and indicative of the aspirational culture of the school. These academic endeavours are also complemented by a rich and diverse extra-curricular offering that provides pupils with the opportunities to gain a fully rounded school experience.

Located in the Greater Manchester area, the school is easily accessible by car for candidates in and around the Manchester and Tameside areas. There are also public transport options available more locally.

  • Science teacher (any specialism).
  • ASAP start date.
  • £24,373-£40,490.
  • Must hold QTS in the UK.
  • Must hold a DBS on the Update service/be willing to apply for enhanced DBS.
  • Must be able to confidently deliver general Science to KS3 and specialism to KS4.
  • Good communication, organisation and differentiation skills are also essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
