We are currently recruiting a Teaching assistant on behalf of a Primary specialist school for young people with a range of special educational needs. This position is due to as soon as possible and will be five days work, six hours per day up until the summer holidays, but should continue into September. The school is based in Radcliffe (Bury) and is easily accessible by both public transport (tram/bus) and car.

This school is an Ofsted 'Outstanding' provision that caters for young people with a range of special educational needs such as, Autism spectrum condition, profound and multiple learning difficulties, and severe learning difficulties. The school provides a fantastic education environment, which allows the young people to make significant strides in their personal and academic development. The school is also held in high regard for the support provided, primarily by the senior leadership team. This really would be a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching assistant hoping to go onto their Teacher training in the near future.

The ideal Teaching assistant for this Bury school will have the below experience:

  • Specialist school experience
  • Substantial mainstream primary school experience- specialising in supporting children with additional needs
  • Experience/willingness to support with personal care
  • Prior experience using PEC's or additional methods of communication
  • Specialist training will enhance your application, i.e. Team- teach training, Moving and handling training, Peg feeding training
  • A DBS registered on the update service (Teaching Personnel can provide if not)
