Focussing primarily on the core subjects of Maths and English, any graduates with either relevant degree specialisms or a natural flare for Literacy and Numeracy and encouraged to show their interest”

-          Special Educational Co-ordinator

The above secondary school in the Wythenshawe area of South Manchester is looking for a graduate mentor to start with them following the Easter break from Monday 19th April. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain experience within a secondary school environment on a full time basis supporting students in the lower ability sets of Maths and English. The students that require further support have been identified as being behind their peers with regards progress and attainment levels and as a result, funding has been allocated for a graduate mentor to work alongside these students for the remainder of the academic year.

Supporting from April until July at least, the successful graduate mentor will support the lower ability students and then move on to supporting KS3 students in the final few weeks of the academic year. Any graduates who have experience of working with young people aged 11 - 16 in a previous setting are encouraged to apply for immediate consideration. This experience could be from a prior role supporting at a secondary school or teaching/tutoring at a tutor club or any other relevant setting.

  • Full time graduate mentor required: Monday 19th April 2021 – July 2021
  • Competitive pay rate with earning potential up to GBP1350 per month
  • Provide support in Maths and English up to GCSE level
  • A Graduate Mentor who ideally has prior experience in supporting and working with students aged 11 - 16
  • Highly supportive senior leadership team and team of support staff

This secondary school is situated in the South Manchester area of Wythenshawe bordering between Altrincham, Sale and Stockport. The Greater Manchester Metrolink services this area on a very regular basis making it highly accessible all of Manchester as well as being situated near to the M56 motorway network. The school is a large co-educational school with approximately 1250 students on roll.
