Our partnered secondary school situated in the heart of Warrington is looking to recruit a passionate graduate to fulfil their Learning Support Assistant position. This is a full time Learning Support role for a confident and motivated graduate who is keen to work within a secondary school environment.

This full time position is due to start at the beginning of the new academic year in September; if you are therefore interested and are available on a full time basis in September, then please apply indicating your interest as below. This is a full time support position for the full academic year from September to July 2020.

Learning Support Assistant role:

This role will involve supporting students at KS3 aged 11 - 14 in the main, assisting the class teacher in ensuring they have access to the subjects being studied. There will be opportunities to support students who are excelling in their studies as well as opportunity to support students who have been identified as falling behind their peers. Any experience of working in this way with young people aged 11 - 14 will be beneficial. If you have been a mentor previously or have tutored students in any environment, then apply now for immediate consideration.

The school are keen to organise meetings with candidates who have any experience as a youth worker, mentor, tutor or previously as a learning support assistant.

Highlights of this Learning Support Assistant position:

  • Pay will be dependent upon experience but likely range between £325- £350 per week
  • Full time Learning Support Assistant required, to start in September for the full academic year
  • Duration: September 2019 - July 2020

The school are ideally looking for an enthusiastic graduate who is perhaps looking to pursue a career in the education sector in the future. This role will be an ideal platform for any graduate to gain valuable experience at a highly reputable secondary school. If you are looking at applying for PGCE or SCITT in the future then this could be the ideal role for you.

This school is located in the heart of Warrington making it very easy to commute to for any teachers travelling by public transport given the regular public transport links. The school has a whole host of fantastic facilities as well as a secure on site car park for use by all staff. The M62 and M6 motorway networks also service this school very well.

Graduates from an English subject, Maths subject or Science subject background are highly desirable to this school as elements of the support required are in these subjects. However, graduates from any degree discipline will be considered and are encouraged to apply for consideration.
