Graduate Opportunity – Paid Classroom Experience (No Teaching Qualification Required)
Are you graduating in Maths, Science, English or a related subject and unsure what to do next?
This is an opportunity to earn a full-time salary, and gain real experience all without committing to a long-term teaching career upfront.
We work with secondary schools across Hastings who are looking for bright, capable graduates to support in their Schools.
What you’ll be doing:
- Gaining hands-on classroom experience from day one
- Supporting qualified teachers
- Working with students in your subject area (Maths, Science, English, Humanities)
What you’ll get:

What could this lead to?
If you decide to move into teaching, the progression is clear and financially competitive:
- Starting salary (qualified teacher): from £32,916
- After ~5 years: typically £45,000+
- Experienced teachers: up to £51,000
- Leadership roles: £50,000–£80,000
Salaries increase annually as you gain experience, and many teachers also receive additional payments for extra responsibilities.
You may also be eligible for:
- Government-funded teacher training routes
- Bursaries in shortage subjects (e.g. Maths, Physics, Chemistry)
- A secure and generous pension through the Teachers’ Pension Scheme
You don’t need:
- A teaching qualification
- Previous classroom experience
You do need:
- A degree (or predicted) in a relevant subject
- Strong communication skills
- Confidence, resilience, and willingness to learn

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
