Geography Teacher

Geography Teacher urgently needed for a school located in Wigan.

Teaching Personnel are working in close partnership with a secondary school in the Wigan borough to recruit for a Geography Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Geography Teacher to join a school that is making significant progress due to the appointment of a new leadership team.

This role is to start immediately and there is the possibility of a fixed term/permanent contract being offered dependent upon effectiveness within the role.

  • Full time Geography Teacher position
  • Teaching Geography across the age and ability range at KS3 and KS4 level
  • Required to start as soon as possible
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on experience (£22,917- £38,633)

Due to a current gap within the Geography faculty, the Head teacher of this popular school is seeking to appoint a Geography Teacher for a minimum of two terms in the first instance. The school are particularly seeking a Geography Teacher who is passionate about teaching and who can engage pupils quickly at this crucial stage of the year. This role is ideal for any Geography Teacher who is looking for a progressive role.

The school is slightly smaller than the average sized secondary school with just over 700 pupils on roll. Pupils enjoy attending and there is a strong community spirit throughout. A recent Ofsted inspection stated that behaviour is considered to be good on the whole with pupils responding well to teachers who show also high levels of interest in them holistically. It is located on the outskirts of Wigan town centre making it easily accessible from the surrounding areas of Aspull, Hindley, Westhoughton.

The Head teacher and other Senior Leaders are looking to meet interested candidates at the earliest possible opportunity. To submit your interest in this position, please submit your full CV to Paul via the link below. Alternatively, you can contact the Manchester West Secondary branch directly.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
