A school in Tameside is looking for a Geography teacher to join the teaching staff on a temporary basis. This position is a teaching role, and so the required candidate will hold QTS. A degree within the field of Geography or a related subject is highly desirable. The school is looking for a teacher to join the team, who has a strong grounding in delivering high quality lessons to a broad range of children across different ages. It is imperative that the required applicant is able to:
- Display competence in delivering school curriculum, as well as sound knowledge with relation to examination criteria.
- Prepare educational resources/material that are engaging, as well as set homework tasks that are relevant.
- Work with pupils on both an individual and group basis.
- Cater for the needs of pupils who have SEN, as well as those requiring support due to English not being their primary language.
- Successfully identifying pupils who may require additional support, and being able to implement strategies to help these students.
- Display strong subject knowledge, as well as show a genuine enthusiasm for the subject.
- Work in line with school policy, delivering recommendations made by Ofsted.
- Providing regular feedback to Heads of Department/Senior Leadership, with regards to student progress and overall attainment.
The role advertised will begin after the Easter break, and will run through until the end of the academic year. There may be some potential for this position to be extended into the new academic year in September.
The school is located in Tameside, which is slightly outside of Manchester city centre. There are numerous public transport links within close proximity to the school, as well as multiple motorway links.
