Job title: Geography Teacher

Location: Rawtenstall, Lancashire

Start date: Monday 8th January 2024

Contract length: Initially until Easter, with the potential to extend for the right candidate

Are you looking for your next step to develop your career in Geography? An Ofsted graded ‘GOOD’ Secondary School in the BB4 area of Lancashire are looking to recruit a new member to broaden their ambitious Geography team. This presents an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to broaden their skills and increase their teaching experience at a well-established Catholic Secondary school.

This post is suitable for ECT’s and experienced practitioners.

The successful candidate should:

  • Have QTS status, with previous experience teaching Geography over KS3 and KS4
  • Have a natural passion for the subject, providing engaging lessons for the students
  • Be ambitious, creative, and highly motivated with the capacity to provide and produce diverse lessons
  • Be able to deliver the curriculum in a way that provides positive outcomes, whilst also promoting the students to ask questions to confirm understanding
  • Be able to maintain classroom focus and manage any challenging behaviour
  • Be comfortable handing a class of up to 30 students, ranging from ages 11-16

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
