A school within the Oswaldtwistle (BB5) is looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to assist across Key Stage 1 (Year 1 & Year 2), this role is to assist pupils that have had gaps in education. The school is rated as ‘Good’ in its latest Ofsted report and is of an average size. The role is currently short term until December 2022, however, there is an opportunity for the position to be long term in the future.
The role:
As a Teaching Assistant you will work closely alongside the class teacher to assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons across a number of subjects including, Maths, Reading & writing and Phonics. You would also be responsible for upholding the behavioural policy within the school. To be successful you will need to have relevant experience within a Primary School setting, especially in Key Stage 1. As well as assisting the class teacher in each subject, you may also be asked to deliver 1:1 sessions with pupils that require additional support in certain areas.
The Candidate:
- Previous Teaching Assistant experience (preferably, but not essential)
- Have experience within a Primary school setting
- Have a nurturing nature
- Be able to work with children who may fall below expected attainment levels
- Be able to provide a welcoming and comfortable learning environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
