Gap Year Students Wanted – Gain Valuable School Experience
Start Date: ASAP / September 2026
Pay: £14.25-£15.00 per hour (paid weekly)
Location: Lancaster
Hours: Full-time / Part-time / Day-to-day (Monday–Friday)

We are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to support pupils in welcoming and supportive primary schools across Lancaster. With full-time, part-time, and flexible day-to-day opportunities available, this role is ideal for gap year students interested in education, psychology, childcare, social work, healthcare, or any career involving work with children and young people.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop professional skills, build your confidence, strengthen your CV, and gain first-hand experience in a classroom environment while supporting pupils in their learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
• Supporting teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery
• Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils
• Assisting with literacy, numeracy, and learning activities
• Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
• Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
• Assisting with classroom organisation and daily routines
What We're Looking For
• Enthusiastic, reliable, and proactive attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine passion for working with children and young people
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Previous experience working with children is beneficial but not essential
• Gap year students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply
