Nurture Teaching Assistant (Primary School)

Hours: Part Time(Term Time)

We are seeking a caring, resilient and dedicated Nurture Teaching Assistant to join our primary school team in Blackburn on a Part-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who require additional emotional, social and behavioural support to access learning successfully.

The Role

As a Nurture Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Work closely with individual pupils and small groups across the primary age range

• Support children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs

• Help pupils develop confidence, emotional regulation and positive relationships

• Deliver nurture-based interventions in line with the school’s nurture provision

• Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs and external professionals

• Promote a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children in a primary or nurture/SEMH setting

• Demonstrates a calm, patient and empathetic approach

• Understands attachment, trauma-informed practice and nurture principles (desirable)

• Has strong communication and teamwork skills

• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
