Our client secondary schools in the central Manchester area are looking for general supply teachers to teach and cover in their schools on a flexible daily basis. Teaching Personnel work in partnership with 10 - 15 different secondary schools in the central Manchester area from M1 central postcode down to Stockport and Wythenshawe. At this time of year, sickness becomes more and more widespread in addition to planned absence and various other absences within schools. The daily requests for cover teachers is therefore at a very high level with a wide variety of schools requesting teachers.

There are opportunities in Ofsted rated outstanding schools through to more challenging schools depending on teachers' preferences and availability with complete flexibility over which days you may be available for.

Key aspects of the general supply teacher role:

  • Pay rate between £100 - £130 per day depending on school, educational authority and subject specialism
  • Opportunity to teach in a variety of different secondary schools
  • Depending on locality, teach in Chorlton, central Manchester, Longsight, Stockport, Trafford and Wythenshawe to name just a few of the areas
  • Provide general cover as a teacher supporting in a variety of lessons

The schools that Teaching Personnel work with are located in the central Manchester area making them very easy to access via public transport; metrolink, bus and train. For those teachers that drive, most schools have car parking facilities available and on site car parks.

Upon registering with Teaching Personnel, you will have access to a secure online portal where you can update your diary regularly giving you full flexibility over your schedule and how often you would like to be made available for work. There are opportunities to work 5 days per week, temporarily or on a more sporadic basis depending on individual circumstances. There are often block placements covering paternity leaves, staff operations or jury services to name just a few.
