General Cover Teacher for September 2019

The school, based in the Portsmouth area are seeking to appoint a general cover teacher for September 2019. Working at this school means that you will be apart of a vibrant and diverse community where staff have high expectations for all of their pupils. Their vision is for every member of their school community to flourish. They currently provide high quality, broad and innovative curriculum ensuring that every student has the opportunity to fulfil their maximum potential. The curriculum is built upon a strong academic GCSE core and delivered through creative and engaging teaching.

The role:

As a cover teacher at the school, you will be responsible for delivering pre prepared exercises and to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set. You will be required to cover a range of subjects with the support of the department and usual class teacher. This is a highly rewarding, and challenging role. We are looking for individuals that are supportive, non-judgmental, patient, easy to talk to, positive and flexible. You must be able to speak to pupils in a manner which encourages and supports them.

Desired candidate:

The school are particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates who have a background in ICT/Computing and/or Humanities coupled with school based experience, although not essential. The role would also be suited to a teacher who wishes reduce the full responsibility of a teacher, an experienced cover supervisor or a newly qualified teacher wishing to complete their NQT year. The school can accommodate this through adapting the timetable to suit an outstanding candidate.
