Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a secondary school based in Newcastle-under-Lyme who are looking for a general Cover Supervisor to start after October half-term. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is considering a career in teaching and wants to gain further experience within a mainstream school.

About the role:

  • Start-date: 17th November
  • Ongoing/long-term role
  • Full-time or part-time opportunity available

What is a Cover Supervisor?

As a Cover Supervisor, you will support the school in the absence of the class teacher. This may involve you covering a variety of subjects and year groups. All work will be pre-prepared, and resources organised, so no planning or marking is involved. You will ensure all pre-set work is complete and behaviour is monitored, following behaviour policies when necessary.

  • Experience working with young people in any environment
  • Adaptable and organised working
  • A calm and empathetic approach to challenging behaviour
  • Safeguarding training (must be completed upon registering with Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
