Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a secondary school based in Stoke-on-Trent who are looking for General Cover Supervisors to start after October half-term. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is considering a career in teaching but wanting to gain further experience within a mainstream secondary school.

About the role:

  • Start-date: 3rd November
  • Part-time and full-time opportunities available
  • Ongoing/long-term
  • £90-£120 per day (dependent on experience)

As a general Cover Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to work with students across KS3 and KS4, covering a wide range of subjects. All work will be pre-set and resources provided, so you will be responsible for ensuring this is all completed to a high standard. You will also manage behaviour, ensuring all issues are dealt with following the school’s behaviour policy. Additionally, you will provide feedback to Head of Departments and members of SLT when necessary.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working with young people is necessary (any environment)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with both students and saff
  • Confident, adaptable and organised
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and current behaviour management techniques (training can be done upon registering with Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
