GCSE Tutor – SK17 Stockport

Location: SK17, Stockport
Job Type: Part-time / Flexible
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (depending on experience)
Subject Areas: GCSE English, Maths and/or Science


About the Role

We are recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic GCSE Tutor to support students in the SK17 area of Stockport. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide 1:1 tailored tuition and help learners prepare effectively for their GCSE examinations.

You will be working with students who require additional academic support, focusing on improving confidence, strengthening subject knowledge, and boosting exam performance.


Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality 1:1 GCSE tuition sessions
  • Plan and adapt lessons to suit individual student needs
  • Support learners with revision, exam preparation, and subject understanding
  • Track progress and provide regular feedback
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students
  • Encourage motivation, confidence, and academic achievement


Requirements

  • Experience tutoring or teaching GCSE students
  • Strong knowledge of English, Maths, and/or Science curriculum
  • Ability to explain concepts clearly and effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, adaptable, and supportive approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK


Desirable Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent
  • Experience supporting SEND or SEMH learners
  • Proven track record of improving student outcomes
