Maths & English Tutor – SK6 Area
Location: Stockport (SK6) and surrounding areas
Hours: School hours, Monday–Friday
Flexible / Part-Time / Term-Time
Competitive hourly pay rates

We are currently recruiting experienced and dedicated Maths & English Tutors to provide personalised support to pupils in home or school settings across the SK6 area.

This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people who may require additional educational support due to gaps in learning, school absence, SEN/SEND needs, anxiety, or other barriers to education. You will deliver tailored Maths and English tuition sessions to help pupils improve their skills, build confidence, and achieve positive academic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver engaging and personalised Maths and English tuition sessions
• Assess pupils’ abilities and create tailored learning plans
• Adapt teaching methods and resources to suit individual learning needs
• Support pupils to improve their literacy and numeracy skills
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and schools
• Encourage confidence, motivation, and independent learning
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate session records
• Create a safe and supportive learning environment

Requirements
• Minimum 1 year teaching or tutoring experience within the UK
• Strong knowledge of Maths and English curricula
• Experience working with children or young people
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
• Patient, reliable, and flexible approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Driving licence and access to transport preferred

Desirable Experience
• SEN/SEND experience
• Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, or anxiety
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or tutoring background
• Experience preparing pupils for SATs, GCSEs, or Functional Skills qualifications

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
