English Graduate Teaching Assistant – Oldham
Are you a recent English Graduate considering a career in education in the future? Maybe you are seeking more experience before enrolling on a PGCE or similar teacher training programme. If this sounds like you then we want to hear from you right away!
**Flexible working hours, with full time and part time hours available**
**Earn up to GBP1300 a month whilst gaining valuable experience within a secondary school environment, prior to enrolling on a Teacher Training Programme**
At Teaching Personnel we are working closely with a number of schools in Manchester, helping them find core subject graduates and helping develop and mould them into the outstanding teachers of tomorrow. We want to hear from you if you have a passion for teaching and a strong desire to pass on your knowledge to pupils, helping to build their confidence and assist them in reaching their potential.
Duties as an English Graduate Teaching Assistant:
- Assisting the subject teacher in the efficient running of lessons, helping deliver inspiring and engaging lessons for all pupils involved
- Working within the classroom, delivering individual support to identified pupils
- Working with pupils on a 1:1 and group basis, helping them with any difficulties they encounter and encouraging them to grow as pupils and people
- Encouraging and promoting good behaviour within and outside of the classroom, and dealing with any disruption effectively
- You will have the opportunity to lead classes and certain areas with support from the class teacher
The schools are offering employment on a temporary basis for 12 months before you then secure a position on a teacher training course, either within the school or through a PGCE placement at university. You will have regular progress reviews with the Head of English in order to ensure that make steady improvement and are fully prepared prior to enrolling to your teacher training.
