Functional Skills Tutor (1:1 Tuition) – Nottinghamshire

Are you an experienced educator with a passion for helping learners build essential skills and confidence?

We’re looking for enthusiastic and committed Functional Skills Tutors to provide 1:1 tuition to learners across Nottinghamshire. This is a meaningful role where you’ll support students in achieving vital qualifications in English and/or Maths, while making a genuine difference to their academic journey and future opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, student-centred lessons that support progress in Functional Skills

  • Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning styles and needs

  • Track and report on student progress, maintaining accurate and timely records

  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills or core subjects (Maths/English)

  • Ability to create engaging, inclusive sessions tailored to individual learners

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
