Teacher – Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Location: Ware
Hours: 8:15 AM – 4:45 PM, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: Dependent on experience

We are collaborating with an outstanding specialist SEN school in Ware that caters to students aged 11 to 16. The school is committed to making learning meaningful, engaging, and full of joy.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils' individual needs.
  • Supporting pupils to make meaningful academic and personal progress.
  • Providing regular assessment and feedback in line with school policies.
  • Managing behaviour in a calm, consistent, and positive manner.
  • Developing strong, supportive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • Taking part in school activities and events as required.
  • Working across different school sites or outreach settings — own vehicle required for transport of pupils when necessary.

We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher with a recognised teaching certification.
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEN.
  • Strong communication, classroom management, and ICT skills.
  • A calm, patient, and compassionate approach.
  • Commitment to inclusive teaching and safeguarding.

Safer Recruitment Requirements:

Applicants must be willing to undergo:

  • An Enhanced DBS check (must be registered on the Update Service – assistance can be provided).
  • Two professional references from the last 24 months.
  • Overseas Police Check (if applicable – for those who have lived outside the UK for 6+ months in the past 5 years).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
