Location: Daventry

Position: Full-Time Teaching Assistant (Temp to Perm)

Our specialised unit is designed to cater to the unique needs of students requiring additional assistance, ensuring they receive the best possible educational experience.

Role Overview: We are seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to join our specialised unit. This role is crucial in providing tailored support to students with SEN and managing challenging behaviour effectively. The position is initially temporary, with the potential to become permanent based on performance and fit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Individualised support: Assist in providing one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN.
  • Behaviour management: Implement and maintain effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Adaptable assistance: Support teaching methods tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a cohesive support system.
  • Progress monitoring: Assist in tracking and reporting on student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.

Requirements:

  • Resilience: Ability to stay calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Behaviour management: Proven skills in managing and improving student behaviour.
  • SEN awareness: Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and effective support strategies.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with SEN students in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust methods and approaches based on individual student needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
