Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist Secondary School

Bury – BL9

Full-Time Position – Monday to Friday

A specialist secondary provision in Bury is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, SEMH and communication difficulties, and places a strong focus on creating a structured and supportive learning environment where pupils feel safe and able to progress.

This role requires someone who can provide consistency and build positive relationships with pupils who benefit from clear boundaries and strong role models.

Responsibilities will include

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis within lessons
• Helping pupils remain engaged with learning activities
• Assisting teachers with classroom organisation and behaviour support
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Encouraging pupils’ independence and confidence

The school is looking for someone who

• Has experience working with SEN, SEMH or behavioural needs
• Is calm, resilient and confident managing behaviour
• Has a genuine passion for supporting young people
• Is available full time, Monday–Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
