Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a Food Technology teacher to take on a full-time role in a school in Manchester. Within this role, you will work with students with different social, emotional and mental health needs that are currently out of mainstream provisions and require additional classroom support. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in education and working with students with additional needs, with a specific passion for food and nutrition education.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging food technology lessons that follow the national curriculum
  • Create a safe and supportive learning environment for students within the classroom
  • Teach practical cooking skills, techniques and theoretical knowledge
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to address and adapt to diverse learning needs and overall development of students
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback

Requirements

  • Teaching qualification with specific experience in food technology or a strong background in food related roles
  • Experience working with students with challenging behaviour or social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Strong knowledge of food safety principles, culinary techniques and nutrition
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Available full-time

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
