Food Technology Teacher – Small Specialist School (Fareham Area)

Immediate Start – Temp to Perm – Paid to Scale

Are you passionate about inspiring young people through Food Technology? A small, nurturing specialist school in the Fareham area is seeking a committed and flexible Food Tech Teacher to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a setting where your impact will be felt every day.

This is a fullt time role but reduced days may be considered for the right candidate.

About the School:

  • Small class sizes (around 6 pupils per class) Whole school below 30 students

  • Pupils aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

  • Current priorities focus on emotional wellbeing, communication development, and providing a nurturing environment

  • While some behaviour can be challenging, the emphasis is on building strong, trusting relationships

About the Role:

  • Teaching Food Technology to students up to GCSE level

  • Creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment

  • Working closely with support staff and other teachers to meet individual learning and emotional needs

  • Full-time position, with an immediate start (though the school is willing to wait for the right candidate)

  • Temp-to-perm opportunity with pay to scale (MPS/UPS depending on experience)

About You:

  • Experience delivering Food Technology at KS3 and ideally GCSE level

  • Fully qualified teachers are preferred, but candidates with significant relevant experience (e.g., cover supervisors or instructors) will be considered

  • Calm, nurturing, and resilient with a strong understanding of SEMH needs

  • Confident in building rapport and managing behaviour positively

  • Current Child workforce enhanced DBS on the updater service at own cost
