Job Title: Food Technology Teacher
Location:
West Midlands, Birmingham
Salary:
£120 - £175 Per day dependent on experience
Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Enhanced DBS on the update service

Job Duties:
The Food Technology Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons to students in KS3 and KS4. They will manage class sizes of up to 30 students, ensuring a positive learning environment. The teacher will be expected to have good behaviour management skills and be able to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning capabilities. Additionally, they will need to be patient and understanding, particularly when working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEND) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have an Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one. Newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply.
Education:
A degree in Food Technology or a related field is desirable, but not essential. Relevant teaching qualifications are required.
Experience:
Prior experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary school setting is preferred. Experience working with students with SEND or SEMH needs is advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills:
The Food Technology Teacher should have good organisation and time management skills. They must be confident in presenting to a group of students and possess strong behaviour management techniques. Understanding of different learning capabilities and patience are key skills for this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional training in behaviour management, SEND, or SEMH is desirable but not essential.
Working Conditions:
This role will involve working full-time hours in a secondary school in the West Midlands. The teacher may need to participate in extracurricular activities or parent meetings as required.
